"What a great season," said co-commissioner Rob Monaco. "These kids were fully engaged, and a lot had to do with our coaches this season."
"Their main objective was to bring these kids confidence and make sure they had fun doing it," he added. "We've succeeded."
By Saturday's end of the season, the players -- ages five and six -- were so confident that the coaches took away the tee and pitched to the youngsters.
That will be great training for next season when they advance to the "coach pitch" league, Monaco said.
"Certainly their skills and knowledge of the game improved, but, most importantly, you could see the kids confidence build," said co-commissioner Leon Grebla. "Whether they knew it or not, these kids approached the season with a growth mindset and did a wonderful job of embracing new challenges all season."
